Pioneering Helmets
Taking performance design to market

A global leader in lotion pumps and sprayers, GP’s client wanted to be the first to market with a recyclable, single-material pump that simplifies the recycling process while meeting the aesthetic and functional demands of customers like Tesco, Asda-Walmart and M&S, and their end-consumers.
This project aimed to set new standards in eco-friendly design in response to increasing consumer demand for sustainable solutions.
Eliminating Complexities for Better Recycling
Traditional lotion pumps use multiple materials, complicating recycling, or making it impossible. Generative Parametrics biggest challenge was to eliminate metal springs and design a mechanism constructed entirely from a single recyclable material, with no disassembly required.
Material Selection for Durability and Eco-Friendliness
A recyclable plastic was identified that balanced strength, durability, and environmental compatibility. This ensured the pump met rigorous performance standards while remaining environmentally responsible. Aligning with the client’s sustainability goals, the pump is manufactured in the UK using local material suppliers.
The single-material lotion pump delivered on its promise, simplifying recycling while maintaining functionality and aesthetic appeal. The client can now offer a product that not only reduces plastic waste but also positions them as a leader in sustainable innovation within a growing eco-friendly packaging market.
