The brief
Turning prototypes into a manufacturable system
A new 4×4 vehicle needed a manufacturable air-intake system, including ducts, air cleaners and related components.
The client had prototype designs in place, but they needed to be refined for production and packaged correctly within the vehicle.
As the wider vehicle design evolved, the air-intake system also needed to adapt quickly without slowing the programme.
The approach
Building change into the design
We mapped the prototype parts into our proprietary design engineering models, known as Power Copies. Our Power Copies generate manufacture-ready designs and update instantly as projects evolve.
That allowed us to optimise the air-intake system for injection moulding, refine the packaging and respond quickly as the overall vehicle design changed.
